Suze Somerville

 

Suze Somerville has been working in Education since 2001 as a Wellbeing Advisor/Practitioner. Suze specialises in working with children and young people who experience social, emotional and behavioural difficulties as well as mental health disorders and carries this out within a therapeutic framework. She offers mentoring, coaching and wellbeing advice/support on an individual basis, small or larger groups and whole year groups through assemblies and class work during PSHE lessons. Suze trained in Psychological practices and is trained as a Mental Health First Aid Assessor.

Suze’s major is in Psychology, Child Development and Cognitive and Social Psychology and she continues her professional development keeping up to date with current legislation and practices training in recognising and managing panic attacks, suicide prevention, adverse childhood experiences, coaching, mental health, exploring the relationship between anxiety and depression. Suze has accrued over twenty years’ experience working with children, adults and families in specialist and mainstream education, personal development coaching, care and wellbeing services.

When Suze is not working she enjoys motor-biking and touring England and Europe with her partner. She also enjoys being in the outdoors; abseiling, kayaking, caving, mountain climbing, mountain-biking and ghyll scrambling. Suze is an Author and has written articles for women’s health. She runs events in Wellbeing and also hosts several sites on social media helping others with inspiration, confidence and esteem, spirituality and sharing her passion of motorbikes.
