Professional

Susan began her work with adolescents and children with challenging behaviour and emotional and social difficulties in 1996. Since this time Susan has participated in various continued personal and professional development training to enhance her skills repertoire, which include Behaviour Management, Stress Management, Delivering Workshops, Special Needs Care, and many more (please see Training, Workshops and Certification section below).

Susan later worked closely with an Educational Psychologist and a Behavioural Specialist over a 2 year period whilst taking over the role of offering Anger Management sessions, progressing to create a series of courses designed to meet the needs of children and adolescents. Courses include Anger Management, Confidence building, Self-awareness and Self-esteem, Communication Skills and Promoting Healthy Friendships and Relationships to name a few. Susan is trained as a Learning Mentor, is a Master Trainer in Emotional Literacy and a Personal Development Facilitator. She has an up-to-date CRB police check to work with children and young people and is an ongoing student of Humanistic Psychology. She also offers respite for children with challenging behaviour in care.

Personal Development support is offered through small group work and 1/1 sessions for persons in need of emotional literacy and personal development skills. Susan works with students who may suffer with emotional, behavioural or learning difficulties, students who have issues, or who find social interaction with others difficult. The work is often challenging and calls for skill and sensitivity. The overall aim is to enable students to effect change and personal growth. Students follow specially designed, tailor-made and highly structured courses which are offered and presented in a therapeutic environment. The work focuses on raising the student’s esteem, confidence and positive-thinking to empower them to make the desired changes on a personal level.
